The NSW Government is funding this essential maintenance work on traffic sensors under its $1.5 billion program to maintain and improve the 18,028 kilometre state road network. Roads and Maritime Services collects traffic volume information from roadside collection devices across the state to help manage road network maintenance, operation and safety. Statistical data regarding traffic volumes is published online via the Roads and Maritime Services Traffic Volume Viewer.

The NSW Government is funding the replacement of a permanent electronic message sign to provide traffic updates and information to road users. Roads and Maritime Services will be replacing the electronic message sign on the Warringah Freeway as it is nearing the end of its functional lifespan.

Roads and Maritime Services will be repairing traffic sensors on Parramatta Road, Summer Hill near the Sydney Light Rail bridge and Frenchs Lane. The work will include installation of cabling under the Parramatta Road bridge over Hawthorne Canal and connecting power supply to the control cabinet.

Roads and Maritime Services will be replacing underground cabling, installing new in-road traffic sensors and restoring the road and footpath to improve the reliability of traffic lights and network traffic flow in this area.

The NSW Government is funding this project to improve road user safety at the Oxford Falls Road West causeway. Roads and Maritime Services will be installing a water level monitoring station at the causeway on Oxford Falls Road West, Oxford Falls, between Wakehurst Parkway and Aroona Road.
