Roads and Maritime Services is seeking your feedback on a proposal to improve traffic flow through the intersection of Princes Highway and King Georges Road and reduce congestion.

We have received a lot of comments on this proposal as well as requests to extend the consultation period. In response to this feedback from the community, we have extended consultation until Friday 29 January.

Roads and Maritime Services is seeking your feedback on a proposal to relocate the pedestrian crossing at the intersection of Underwood Road and the Homebush Drive ramp and install pedestrian fencing on the north and south sides of Underwood Road. We are proposing to relocate the crossing further south, which would allow more vehicles between it and the roundabout, reducing congestion caused by motorists queuing across the roundabout.

Installation of new traffic lanterns at intersection of Pittwater Road, Belgrave Street and Raglan Street, Manly from Monday 14 December

An analysis of five year reported crash data (1 July 2008 to 30 June 2013) shows that there has been five reported crashes involving pedestrians at the intersection of Pittwater Road, Belgrave Street and Raglan Street. All five reported crashes involved turning vehicles impacting pedestrians crossing the traffic light controlled pedestrian crossings.

Roads and Maritime Services will deliver this work, which includes installing new lanterns with red left and right turn arrows to hold turning motorists for two seconds while pedestrians cross Pittwater Road, Raglan Street and Belgrave Street.

Roads and Maritime Services is seeking your feedback by Monday 14 December on a proposal to build three new traffic light controlled pedestrian crossings and a zebra crossing, and extend the right turn bays on Port Hacking Road eastbound and Kingsway eastbound. These changes will improve pedestrian safety and reduce congestion caused by vehicles queuing in the through lanes from the turning bays.

Installation of an additional traffic light at the intersection of Russell Avenue and Rocky Point Road, Sans Souci from Monday 7 December

Roads and Maritime Services will deliver this work, which includes installing a new traffic light post on the north-west corner of the intersection that will be clearly visible to westbound road users on Russell Avenue turning right onto Rocky Point Road. This will help ensure they can see the flashing amber and red arrows that protect pedestrians crossing the northern side of Rocky Point Road.
